Roger Branch Jr., Chairman of the Board of Directors


Mr. Branch Jr. received his Associates Degree in Accounting and Finance and has been an employee for the U.S. Postal Service as an Accounting Technician.  Mr. Branch Jr. is responsible for the accounting of thirty-two post offices in the Inglewood area.  Mr. Branch is very involved with his community by volunteering in public schools for Local District 8 in the Los Angeles Unified School District for the past ten years. He is a Vietnam Veteran and serves as a Commissioner for the Veterans Affairs Commission for the City of Carson.  He has volunteered for over 30 years as a football coach for the OCJAAF Orange County Junior All American Football League. Mr.Branch  has also mentored and coached for the Carson Colts and LB POLY Midget. Many of these youth have gone on to play in the NFL.​

Naomi C. Ferns, Ed.D, Vice President of the Board of Directors

Naomi Ferns has over thirty years of experience working in the Compton Unified School District in various positions including, but not limited to, Executive Assistance to the Superintendent/Associate Superintendent, Assistant to the Superintendent/Director of Secondary, Director of Student Support Services, Middle and Elementary School Principal and Psychologist.

Bishop Emery Lindsay, Member of the Board of Directors 

 A graduate of Central Baptist Theological Seminary has served as a pastor for the Church of Christ (Holiness) the USA for over 35 years.  He was elected President of the Sunday School and HYPU Congress in 1980.  Bishop Lindsay has emphasized as his theme, “excellence in performance and service for Christ”.

Accomplished retail and sales management professional offering over twenty years of overall experience in business management, warehouse & inventory control as well as territorial sales, merchandising, and training. B.S., Industrial Technology/Aviation Administration,California State University, Los Angeles.

Dr. Denice Price, Advisor to the Board of Directors 

CEO, NEW HOPE ACADEMY OF CHANGE, Educational Corporation and Commissioner Citywide Advisory Commission-City of Carson - I believe that ALL STUDENTS CAN LEARN and that effective leaders must take risks in order to make changes. Our Educational Resource Center NEW HOPE ACADEMY OF CHANGE (NHAC) is a non-profit, tax-exempt community-based organization servicing at-risk youth-adult clients, veterans, and economically disadvantaged population designed to provide intensive education and employment training, case management, and other supportive services to high-risk youth and underserved clients, and offenders re-entering the community. I have taken many risks, fought many battles with one focus to “do the right thing” to improve education for all students.

Reginald Grant, MSEd

An educator for the past seventeen (17) years, Reginald is a consultant in the areas of Curriculum Development & Teacher Training. He is also considered an expert in Reaching and Teaching African American and Urban Children.  He often Speaks Professionally and does  Workshops and events across the nation. He is the co-founder of the Grant Language Academy and CEO of eSportsInstruction.com. He works with numerous organizations and businesses across the nation and as an ex-professional football player (Jets, NFL, and Ottawa, CFL) he works in business development for the Retired NFL Players Congress.

Sonia Das, Esq -  Transactional Attorney and Almuni of UCLA.

Sonia Das has been licensed for 19 years and has an office in Long Beach, CA. This attorney handles cases in Family and attended Western State University College of Law. Attorney Das currently serves on several non-profit Boards. Sonia Das is an attorney in Long Beach/Orange County specializing in estate planning, corporate matters and issues related to non-profit organizations. She currently serves on several nonprofit boards in both executive and advisory capacities and is known for her communication skills and problem-solving abilities.  Since 2016, she has been President of the Southern California Council of Quilt Guilds (SCCQG) - a consortium representing 94 non-profit quilt guilds in Southern California.

Michael Luther has been a practicing Orthodontist in the Los Angeles area for the past 25 years.  After receiving a degree in Dental Surgery at Howard University, Dr. Luther attended John Hopkins University receiving a Master of Public Health Degree.  Dr. Luther later returned to Howard University to complete a residency in Orthodontics

 Jon Gary, M.F.A., Ed.D   

Accomplished K-12 professional offering two decades in object-based learning leadership which includes special education support, diversity training, classroom curriculum, e-learning courses, k-12 live-action videos and animation, and virtual reality. recognized for diversity support of K-12 leaders, teachers, students, and entertainment professionals. Trained in Title VII, IX, sexual harassment and core competency analysis such implicit bias, Myers-Briggs, Steven Covey, and Ken Blanchard exercises.

William D. Keith, M.D., Member of the Board of Directors

Dr. Keith has a private practice limited to dermatology specializing in general medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatological surgery, related skin diseases, and dermatologic medical-legal evaluations.  Dr. Keith received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Washington, School of Pharmacy in addition to his graduate degree from the School of Public Health.  Dr. Keith received his medical degree from the University of Washington, School of Medicine in 1973 then he went on to finish his internship, residency, and fellowship.

Member, Long Beach Alliance for Food and Fitness (LBAFF),  Member of School site council, Parent /Community  ​Has over 15 years’ experience in the public school system.  She has worked as an Administrative Assistant in a large urban elementary school.  She has served as President of the School Site Council, as a parent representative and presented in the National Equity Schools conference with the Foster Elementary School

Chadwick Gaines, Esq -  Attorney 

Chadwick is a graduate of Florida A&M University and Rutgers - Newark School of Law. Mr. Gaines has worked for the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office, Bank of America, and various law firms. Mr. Gaines currently practices immigration law.  Mr. Gaines is passionate about helping underrepresented communities obtain competent and compassionate legal representation. In his spare time, Mr. Gaines enjoys reading, working out, and hiking.
